In Rajkot, Dhirendra Shastri Promotes Multiple “Jihad” Conspiracies and Calls for Hindu Rashtra

Location: Rajkot, Gujarat

At a ‘Sanatan Setu: Shri Hanuman Katha,’ far-right preacher Dhirendra Shastri (Bageshwar Dham Sarkar) peddled the anti-Muslim conspiracy theories of “love jihad,” “land jihad,” “thook jihad,” and “dosti jihad.” Referring to the death of Surya Chauhan, who was reportedly stabbed by individuals including Asad, Nawab, and Farhan, he warned that Hindus would face a similar fate unless they united. He rejected Hindu-Muslim brotherhood and advocated combining shaastra (religious knowledge) with shastra (arms training). He claimed that he did not oppose Muslims, but warned them to live “properly.” Invoking the Partition, he demanded that India be recognised as a “Hindu Rashtra,” alleging that the ancestors of Indian Muslims had already received Pakistan. He also accused Christian missionaries of carrying out religious conversions through free healthcare services.
