In Ramnagar, BJP Leader Promotes “Love Jihad” and Targets Muslim Men

Location: Ramnagar, Nainital, Uttarakhand

At a Raksha Bandhan event, BJP leader Madan Joshi peddled the anti-Muslim conspiracy theory of “love jihad,” alleging that “jihadis” target Hindu girls and have fixed “rates” for them. He urged parents not to remain distracted by social media reels and to closely monitor their daughters’ phone use and travel. Citing an alleged case in which two girls were rescued from a car driver, and another in which a woman approached him over alleged harassment and blackmail, he claimed that repeatedly sending such offenders to jail was ineffective because “they all come back.” He warned that once a girl leaves home, she cannot be brought back because a “chip” has been put in her mind, and called on parents to put a “chip” in their children’s minds against people who wear kalava, give false names, and record videos.
