BJP leader Madan Joshi at a Navaratri event peddled the anti-Muslim “love jihad” conspiracy theory. He alleged that underage Hindu girls are “soft targets” and claimed that “jihadis” change their identity, wear a kalava, and try to entrap young girls outside their schools. Joshi warned parents to keep a close watch on their daughters, declaring that there is a rise in “love jihad in the form of Ravan.” He also called for punitive action against those accused of “love jihad,” stating that the houses of the accused should be demolished.
