Mahant Rishiraj Giri of the Ma Kela Devi Temple led a 22-km foot march with hundreds of devotees towards the Sambhal Jama Masjid, claiming it was historically the Harihar Temple. The mobilisation marks the first anniversary of the legal petition asserting that the Jama Masjid stands on a former temple site. Authorities denied permission and deployed a heavy security presence around the Jama Masjid and surrounding locations.
