Devbhoomi Sangharsh Samiti attempted to prevent Friday prayers at the mosque by trying to recite the Hanuman Chalisa at the site, claiming the land was officially registered as a Hindu religious place. Police prevented the group from reaching the mosque. One of their leaders falsely accused that Muslims were offering namaz at the Mosque only to show Hindus and the administration that they do not follow the law, and issued a threat stating that if Muslims were not stopped from entering, they would force their way in.
