In Uttarkashi, CM Dhami Reiterates ‘Operation Kalnemi’ and Demographic Claims

Location: Sankari, Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand

At the inauguration of the Kedarkantha Tourism–Pilgrimage Winter Festival, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami claimed his government is acting to protect the culture and demographic composition of Devbhoomi, contrasting this with what he described as the Opposition’s neglect in the past. He alleged that during the Congress regime there was a rise in “land jihad,” “love jihad,” and “thook jihad,” whereas his government has taken “strict and decisive action” against such “ghrinit mansikta” (heinous mindsets). Dhami said those involved in riots or religious conversions would not be spared and cited “Operation Kalnemi” as action against those allegedly targeting Sanatan Dharma. He claimed over 10,000 acres of government land had been “freed” from alleged encroachment with interests from “land jihadi” under action against “land jihad,” and asserted that Congress had allowed “illegal ghuspaith (infiltration)” in the state, and said his government is working to expel such elements. He further highlighted the closure of 250 madrasas, demolition of 500–600 “illegal” structures, dissolution of the Madrasa Board with restrictions to the prescribed curriculum, and the implementation of strict “land laws.”
