The Delhi Police detained over 12 individuals, alleging that they were Bangladeshi citizens who had entered India illegally. The lawyers from Indian Civil Liberties Union, representing one of the detainees stated that, despite being an Indian citizen with valid documents, he was taken into custody and denied access to the lawyers for more than 24 hours. He was later released.
