Speaking to the media at Lalsagar in Jodhpur, Sunil Ambekar, All India Publicity Chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), expressed serious concern over increasing cases of forced religious conversion and love jihad. He said such conversions are not just a religious issue but also a threat to national security, social harmony, and Indian culture. Ambekar stressed that the RSS and its affiliated organisations are actively working to counter these practices across India.
Conversion in tribal areas
Ambekar highlighted that forced and deceptive conversions are becoming more serious in tribal and forest-dwelling areas. He praised organisations like Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram for their work in providing hostels and protecting the rights of tribal communities. Despite these efforts, the situation remains concerning.
Strategy by RSS and allied groups
A clear strategy has been prepared by the RSS and its affiliated organisations to deal with conversions. Volunteers are working closely with Hindu saints, sadhus, and aware members of society. Ambekar said, “Conversion done through force, greed, or deception is always wrong. Everyone in society should be aware of this message, whether they are rich, poor, urban, rural, or tribal.”
