After unveiling Shivaji Maharaj’s statue, Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde backed the demand to remove Aurangzeb’s grave. He declared, “Many people love Aurangzeb, but he was a tyrant. Revering him is treason. He tortured Sambhaji for refusing Islam. Anyone who praises Aurangzeb is a traitor.” Shinde called the grave a “blot on Maharashtra.”
