NEW DELHI —A road accident in Haryana’s Rewari district turned violent after a Muslim family travelling in a car was surrounded by a mob, with family members reportedly dragged out of the vehicle and assaulted.
According to an account shared on social media, the family’s car collided with a bus. What followed, the victims allege, was a mob attack in which members of the family were pulled out of the vehicle and brutally assaulted.
The attackers allegedly raised communal slogans, including “Chase away mullahs to Pakistan” during the incident.
The family has further alleged that cash and personal belongings were looted and that their car was vandalised. The victims also claim that police personnel were present at the scene but failed to intervene or provide them assistance throughout the assault.
In the video, an elderly Muslim man can be heard saying, “We were beaten mercilessly by a mob while they kept abusing us. They took our belongings, including cash and a suitcase.”
He can be heard further saying, “I kept calling the police personnel present at the scene for help and intervention, but they didn’t even care to respond.”

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage and drawing sharp criticism from users who have called the alleged attack shameful and demanded an investigation and appropriate action against those responsible.
