Birendra Singh, aka Birju Mayal, leader of Sach Ke Sath Samiti, harassed a Muslim hawker from Uttar Pradesh for allegedly lacking an Aadhaar card or police registration. He claimed that “people like this” elope with their women and accused the hawker of entering the area under the pretence of selling bulbs. He then forced him to take an oath to register with the police and chant “Jai Kalki” and “Jai Uttarakhand.”
