Vishva Hindu Parishad joint general secretary Surendra Kumar Jain has called for stricter action on religious conversions, roadside prayers, and cow slaughter while addressing a Durga Vahini training programme in Rajasthan.
Speaking at the Durga Vahini “Shaurya Prashikshan Varg” in Jhunjhunu, Jain said the Rajasthan government had introduced the proposed “Religious Freedom Bill” and “Disturbed Area Act” following public demand. He urged the government to take further steps, including action concerning madrasas in the state.
‘Concern Over Conversions and Healing Meetings’
Jain criticised alleged religious conversion activities and “healing meetings” in Rajasthan, saying such incidents remained worrying despite what he described as a “strong government and strong society.”
He also introduced the term “reverse love jihad,” claiming that a new trend had emerged in the state, though he did not elaborate on specific examples during his remarks.
Addressing the training programme, Jain said the initiative has been running since 1984 and focuses on self-defence and social awareness among women.
According to him, around 150 women participated in the Jhunjhunu training camp, where they were trained in self-defence and made aware of issues such as “love jihad,” “land jihad,” and religious conversion.
He claimed more than 43 such training camps are currently operating across the country and that lakhs of women have received training through the programme.
Demand to Stop Namaz on Roads
Jain also demanded that the government ensure no prayers are offered on public roads.
“The government should ensure that no one offers namaz on roads,” he said, adding that public spaces should not be used for religious activities.
