At the Sanatan Dharm Sansad, organised by religious narrator Devkinandan Thakur, several religious preachers delivered speeches targeting Muslims and Islamic religious sites. They falsely claimed the Waqf Board to be a part of Muslim conspiracy to seize the country’s wealth and called for its dismantling. They fearmongered about the Muslim population and peddled the conspiracy theory of “love jihad.” The speakers in the event included Devikanandan Thakur, Ashutoshnand Giri, Raghavacharya, Chinmayanand and Ballabh Das.
far-right monk Sadhvi Saraswati delivered a speech filled with anti-Muslim rhetoric. She declared, “This Kumbh is not for everyone—not for those vidharmis who sympathize with Akbar and Babar. They cannot even enter here. I am telling them, don’t bother coming, as this meeting is for the Sanatan board, not bhaichara (brotherhood).” She then recited a hateful poem advocating violence against deshdrohi (traitors), glorifying the idea of filling them with bullets.Later, she claimed, “You have broken 36,000 temples to build your mosques. No matter how many temples you have destroyed, we will reclaim them.” She also referred to the Waqf Board as “monsters.”
BJP MLA T Raja Singh spread the conspiracies of ‘land jihad’ and ‘love jihad,’ claiming, ‘Another Pakistan has formed within our India.’ He alleged that taxes collected from Hindus are being spent on ‘Vidharmis’ and those engaged in ‘land jihad’ and ‘love jihad.’ He also promised that the proposed ‘Sanatan Board’ would protect ‘great men’ like Dara Singh and those who demolished the Babri Masjid.
Dara Singh is a convicted murderer and former Bajrang Dal activist. He was found guilty of leading a mob that burned Australian Christian missionary Graham Staines and his two young sons alive in Odisha in 1999. He was also convicted of brutally murdering Muslim trader Shaikh Rehman and Christian priest Fr. Arul Das.
Spiritual influencer Ishika Taneja urged Hindu women to arm themselves, spread the conspiracy of ‘love jihad,’ and led anti-Muslim sloganeering. She declared, ‘Ek chutki sindoor ki keemat kya jane ye Babar ke aulaad!’ She also claimed that sindoor protects women from halala, ‘love jihad,’ and triple talaq.
Sadhvi Prachi fear mongered by claiming that without Modi and Shah, Uttar Pradesh would have turned into Bangladesh. She promoted the Akhand Bharat theory and demonized Muslims by stating they have ‘four wives and 40 children.
Monk Abhay Das called for the establishment of a ‘Sanatan Board’ to ‘teach Muslims a lesson,’ illustrating his point with a story about a stick and a goat. He referred to Muslims as ‘Babar ki aulaad’ (sons of Babar) and opposed minority-related government schemes.
Separately, a Sikh monk urged Hindus to arm themselves, fear mongering about ‘vidharmis’ arming themselves, taking Hindu women, and selling them into slavery.”””
Monk Raju Das urged Hindus to arm themselves, called the Waqf board ‘Bakwaas board,’ and used slurs by referring to Muslims as ‘children of pigs.’ He praised Yogi Adityanath for extrajudicial killings and bulldozer actions, stating, ‘You have phones worth 3 to 4 lakhs but don’t keep any weapons.’ He warned that the Waqf board would take over Hindu lands and called for stripping voting rights from those who ‘don’t love Sanatan’ or refuse to say ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai.
