ttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is currently on an official visit to Japan. He has been meeting business leaders as well as political representatives there.
In one such meeting where the Uttar Pradesh CM was greeted and welcomed by members of the Indian diaspora, one image stood out: Indians and NRIs living in Japan at the event sported T-shirts with an image of a bulldozer.
Bulldozers or bulldozer action have come to be synonymous with the BJP state governments back home. Authorities in BJP-ruled states like Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have used bulldozers to demolish structures, including houses, shops and other illegal constructions, owned by accused in cases of communal disturbance, sexual violence etc.
However, the trend was likely started by Yogi Adityanath when he became the CM of the state nine years ago.
