Authorities in Bareilly launched a demolition drive against properties linked to close aides of cleric Maulana Tauqeer Raza, president of the Ittehad-e-Millat Council (IMC), citing them as alleged illegal encroachments. Police arrested Maulana Mohsin Raza, son-in-law of Tauqeer Raza’s elder brother, and demolished his property, including an e-rickshaw warehouse, while also cutting electricity to a neighboring site. A marriage lawn and several commercial establishments tied to Raza’s associates were sealed. The crackdown followed the September 26 clash related to the “I Love Muhammad” campaign, with officials alleging the involvement of Raza’s aides in the unrest. Heavy police deployment and drone surveillance accompanied the demolitions to deter resistance, monitor potential stone pelting.
