At Navadurga Navyuvak Garba Mandal, VHP-Bajrang Dal leader Tannu Sharma delivered a speech peddling the anti-Muslim conspiracy theory of “love jihad.” He likened Muslim men to a modern-day Ravana who disguise themselves to infiltrate Garba pandals and prey on Hindu women. He urged violent retaliation, urging women to adopt a “Kalka Mata” avatar who wears a garland of skulls and “behead” those he referred to as “Jihadis” attending Garba, warning that those who do not resist would end up in pieces.
