At a Vijaya Dashami event, MLA T. Raja Singh demanded that the Chief Minister announce bounties for killing those engaged in “love jihad” and religious conversion, and for teaching a lesson to those who kill cows. He peddled the conspiracy theory of “love jihad” and alleged a plot to turn the country into an Islamic state. Addressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he claimed that Hindus elected him to declare the country a “Hindu Rashtra.” He urged the Chief Minister to shoot “jihadis” on the streets to instill fear, and offered to campaign for six months to beat them across the state if needed. He also led the attendees in taking an oath to buy only from Hindu vendors and to create a “Jihadi Mukt” state.
