Far-right monk Madhuram Sharan Shiva, leader of the armed-monks group Shiva Shakti Akhada, at a Ramlila forum, urged Hindus to arm themselves and fearmongered over the population of those he referred to as “adharmis.” He accused Hindus of enabling them by buying from, renting to, or employing them, declaring, “To destroy sin, the sinner must be destroyed.” He called on youth to fight and eliminate “jihadis,” likening them to demons (rakshas), and urged fathers to raise sons like Dashrath who would slay demons. He framed unity as essential if Hindus want to make Bharat a Hindu Rashtra.
