Far-right monk Madhuram Sharan Shiva, leader of the armed monks group Shiva Shakti Akhada, questioned whether there are youth today who can vow to kill “jihadis” and behead those who commit atrocities, likening them to demons (rakshas). He urged fathers to raise sons like Dashrath who would slay demons, saying that only then would religion sustain. He further demanded that Durga idol’s hand should hold real weapons so that no “rakshas” can disrupt their events, asserting that Shakti without shastra is incomplete.
