Hindu nationalist organisations, including AHP–Rashtriya Bajrang Dal, staged a protest against the allocation of 42 seats to Muslim students in the first merit list of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence (SMVDIME), out of a total of 50. They demanded that the admission list be revoked and chanted the slogan, “Shoot the traitors of the country.”
