At a conversation during the NDTV Chhattisgarh Conclave, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai claimed that the Church holds significant influence through health and education services and is involved in religious conversion. He said that late BJP leader Dilip Singh Judeo started ‘ghar wapsi’ to bring people back to Hinduism. He further alleged that the Church carries out conversions by exploiting poverty and illiteracy, adding that his government will oppose this and introduce strict anti-conversion laws in the upcoming Winter session.
