Taro Sonam Liyak, president of the Arunachal Pradesh Indigenous Youth Organization (APIYO), along with his team, entered a mosque and demanded to see the mosque’s documents and claimed the large structure to be an illegal encroachment, questioning whether the mosque had permission to operate, calling it a threat to the state and an attempt to capture it. The group interrogated those present about their activities and fundraising, and issued warnings that the mosque would be dismantled if not “registered.” They further demanded the mosque imam to chant “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”
