Pravin Togadia, founder and president of AHP–Rashtriya Bajrang Dal, speaking at the Virat Hindu Sammelan, glorified the karseva movement and celebrated the demolition of the Babri Masjid. He claimed that they had chosen November 9, based on the Hindu calendar, not for peaceful negotiation but for a “massacre” inspired by the Mahabharata. He further alleged that Mecca was originally a Shiv Mandir that had been converted into a mosque. He claimed that the Hindu population is decreasing and that non-Hindus would soon become the majority, which, he warned, would lead to Hindus being killed in every house and locality. He asserted that the Hindu religion and the idea of a “Hindu Rashtra” were created by God. He demanded a population control law and the expulsion of 3 crore Bangladeshi Muslims, whom he alleged were residing in the country illegally, praising the nationwide SIR action. He urged Hindus to buy from and employ only Hindus. He further asserted that Hindus would be “the ones to beat and win,” and called for the establishment of more Hanuman Chalisa centres.
