Authorities carried out a demolition drive against properties linked to a close aide of cleric Maulana Tauqeer Raza, president of the Ittehad-e-Millat Council (IMC), accused of inciting the Bareilly Clash back in September, alleging that the structures were illegal encroachments. The demolition targeted two banquet halls owned by Raza and SP MP Azam Khan’s associates, which resulted in protests from the family members.
