Communal tension erupted in Pandripani Umaradah village after a Christian man was denied burial. Some villagers claimed that allowing the burial would “violate local cultural traditions” and fearmongered over alleged religious conversions in the area. Facing sustained resistance, authorities decided that the burial would not take place within the village. The body was subsequently transported to another location outside the district for the last rites.
