In Shimla, Speakers Urge Hindus to Trade Only With Hindus Amid Sanjauli Mosque Tensions

Location: Shimla, Himachal Pradesh

At a meeting by members of Dev Bhoomi Sangharsh Samiti and VHP–Bajrang Dal on the Sanjauli mosque conflict, a speaker called on Hindus to carry out financial transactions only with Hindus, whether for food, clothes, or tailoring, claiming that even if they had to pay more, the food would not be “spat on or urinated.” He alleged that Kashmiri hawkers first come to conduct surveillance of localities to check when women are alone at home. He referred to non-Hindus as “demons of our times” and narrated a story alleging that Kashmiri hawkers stole and ate a calf.
