In Kolkata, Hindu Jagran Manch Rally Calls for Expulsion of ‘Jihadis’ and Threatens Revenge

Location: Kolkata, West Bengal

During a Hindu Jagran Manch protest over the killing of Dipu Das in Bangladesh, protesters used dog-whistling rhetoric to target Muslims in Bengal. A speaker chanted slogans such as “Those who have their homes, or their aunt’s or uncle’s homes, in Bangladesh—leave India immediately,” along with calls to “remove jihadis to save the country,” “catch each and every jihadi in Bengal and drive them out,” and “There has been enough protest; now there will be revenge.”
