During the staging of Jihad by Premchand, organised by VHP-Bajrang Dal, leader Neeraj Doneria peddled anti-Muslim conspiracy theories of “love jihad” and religious conversion, alleging a plot to turn India into an “Islamic state.” He claimed that Muslims follow only their religious texts and would never regard Hindus as brothers. He further alleged that, in the past, mosques in Kashmir asked Hindu men to leave while telling them to “leave behind your women for us.” Milind Parande also further promoted the “love jihad” conspiracy theory.
