Several conferences and conventions of Hindu society were organised across different parts of Tripura on Sunday, highlighting the need to preserve Sanatani culture, traditions and collective unity.

A day-long Hindu Sammelan was held for the first time at the Khowai Airport ground under the aegis of the Khowai Hindu Sammelan Organising Committee. The programme was inaugurated by Mahant Yogi Rohtas Nath from Uttar Pradesh, who also delivered the keynote address. Organisation minister of Vidya Bharati, Tripura Prant, Nilmani Chakraborty attended as chief guest, while Swami Asimananda Maharaj of Bharat Seva Sangh, Khowai was present as special guest. The event was presided over by organising committee president Mithu Debnath.

The programme began with felicitation of guests and lighting of the ceremonial lamp before the portrait of Bharat Mata amid Vedic chants. Speakers stressed the importance of Hindu unity, collective strength and organisation. Mahant Yogi Rohtas Nath expressed concern over alleged attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, demographic changes and illegal infiltration in parts of eastern India. A pledge was administered, followed by recitations from the Hanuman Chalisa and the Srimad Bhagavad Gita, cultural performances and distribution of mahaprasad.

Meanwhile, the first Hindu Malaima Conference was held at Gandacherra Higher Secondary School with participation from tribal and non-tribal communities. Cultural programmes and a large yajna were organised.

In Agartala, a Hindu Samaj convention at Khudiram Basu English Medium School ground focused on Hinduism, nationalism, youth responsibility and social harmony, with speakers emphasising unity and vigilance to protect cultural and religious values.
