At a Hanuman Chalisa recitation event, BJP MLA Balmukund Acharya targeted Muslims and claimed that Hindu women are being trapped in “jihad.” He alleged that Muslims have demolished thousands of temples, which are now being “cleaned” and consecrated, and claimed that idols of Narsimha would emerge from the Qutub Minar. He further claimed that they would not allow Muslims in the locality, and asserted that Hindus pay taxes, unlike Muslims, whom he accused of being occupied with their “four wives and 36 children” and benefiting from freebies.
