In Champawat, CM Dhami Says Devbhoomi Will Not Allow ‘Jihadis’ to Settle

Location: Champawat, Uttarakhand

During a public conversation, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami highlighted his government’s measures to maintain the “culture and demographic composition” of the state. He mentioned the implementation of laws against religious conversion, riots, “love jihad,” “land jihad,” and “thook jihad,” and claimed that strict action was being taken. He asserted that action against “land jihad” had resulted in “freeing” over 10,000 acres of government land from “land jihadi,” claiming the Opposition opposes their actions against “land jihad” due to votebank politics and accuses them of disrupting the demography by allowing Muslim settlement. He asserted they won’t let any “Jihadi” settle and continue “jihad” within the region. He claimed that the government was acting against “radical mentality” and a “divisive mentality” through the dissolution of the Madrasa Board with restrictions to prescribed curriculum. Dhami stated, “In Devbhoomi, we want to establish temples of knowledge and values, not separatist centres” claiming closure of 250 madrasas, which he described as “illegal” and accused of misleading children, claiming Congress have issues with this too, stating that children should not be taught a “500-year-old tribal mindset.” Dhami referenced an initiative called “Operation Kalnemi,” describing it as a campaign against“ghuspaithiya (infiltrators), pakhandi (hypocrites), and vidharmi” who he alleged were targeting and harming “Sanatan Sanskriti” by concealing their identity, claiming Congress has issues with this too. He mentioned the implementation of land laws, alleging strict action against “land mafias.”
