In Khatima, CM Dhami Repeats ‘Land Jihad’ and Demography Claims

Location: Khatima, Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami highlighted his government’s measures against alleged “land jihad,” asserting that action against “land mafia” had resulted in “freeing” over 10,000 acres of government land from those he termed “land jihadi” and demolition of more than 600 “illegal” structures. Dhami said those involved in riots would not be spared, mentioned implementation of strict laws against riot and dissolution of the Madrasa Board with restrictions to the prescribed curriculum, and closure of around 250 alleged “illegal” madrasas, claiming “we want to establish temples of knowledge and values, not separatist centres that mislead children.” Dhami referenced an initiative called “Operation Kalnemi,” describing it as a campaign against “pakhandi (hypocrites)” who he alleged were targeting and harming “Sanatan Sanskriti.” He accuses the Opposition of opposing their actions due to votebank politics and accuses them of disrupting the demography by allowing Muslim settlement. He warned people with a “jihadi and separatist mindset,” claiming they won’t tolerate any conspiracy that harms the cultural composition of “Devbhoomi.”
