In Uttarkashi, CM Dhami Repeats ‘Jihad’ Crackdown and Madrasa Closure Claims

Location: Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand

During the inauguration program of Magh Mela, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami highlighted his government’s measures to implement laws against religious conversion, riots, “love jihad,” “land jihad,” and “thook jihad,” asserting a zero-tolerance policy against them. He claimed the “freeing” of over 10,000 acres of government land from alleged encroachment by “land mafia” and mentioned the implementation of strict land laws. Dhami referenced an initiative called “Operation Kalnemi,” describing it as a campaign against those who he alleged were targeting and harming “Sanatan Sanskriti,” asserting they will be sent back to wherever they came from. He claimed the Congress opposes their action, alleging that opposition to these measures stems from vote-bank politics, alleging they find no fault in “jihad.” He warned that strict actions by his government are being taken, asserting they will not tolerate any form of “jihad” or “Mullahwadi mentality,” further citing “vote jihad,” “mazar jihad.”
