During the Jagran Forum “Mahamanthan for empowered Uttarakhand” program, organized by Dainik Jagran, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami mentioned government measures to ensure the safety and security of women in Uttarakhand. He highlighted the implementation of laws against religious conversion, riots, “love jihad,” “land jihad,” and “thook jihad,” asserting an intolerance against them. He claimed the “freeing” of over 10,000 acres of government land from alleged encroachment. Dhami mentioned the dissolution of the Madrasa Board with restrictions to the prescribed curriculum and closure of around 250 alleged “illegal” madrasas, claiming “we want to establish temples of knowledge and values, not centres of a 500-year-old tribal and radical mindset.” He referenced an initiative called “Operation Kalnemi,” describing it as a campaign against those he alleged were targeting and harming the “Sanatan Sanskriti,” claiming action against 6,000 such individuals, asserting that they would be sent back to wherever they came from.
