BJP MLA and Maharashtra Minister for Fisheries, Nitesh Rane, while on an election campaign, stated that the people’s colour is saffron and not green, referred to Muslims as “green snakes,” and said they would not be tolerated. Contrasting religious slogans, he said their chant is “Jai Shri Ram” and not “Sar Tan Se Juda.” He further asserted that he prefers candidates who say “I love Mahadev” rather than “I love Mohammed.”
