Srikant Ranjankar, a cow vigilante and politician, used his election campaign to fearmonger over alleged infiltration by “Bangladeshis” in the district. He claimed that lakhs of allegedly illegal Bangladeshi immigrants are living in Maharashtra and presented himself as the only candidate promising to stop them.
