In Dehradun, VHP Leader Invokes Mughal Atrocities to Target Muslims

Location: Dehradun, Uttarakhand

During a weekly Hanuman Chalisa event, VHP–Bajrang Dal leader Vikas Verma invoked the Mughal rulers to assert that “such a mentality” persists among some people even today, whom he said they are opposing. He alleged that they abducted Hindu women, assaulted them, and sold them in Arab markets. He urged attendees to teach their children what he described as the “reality” of Mughal rule. He cited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to claim that the looting of the Somnath temple was aimed not only at wealth but also to crush the faith of Hindu Sanatanis. He further alleged that Mughal rulers destroyed temples and used their stones to build mosque floors.
