During the Bagurumba Dwhou, a Bodo-dance cultural programme in Guwahati, Prime Minister Narendra Modi labeled those he termed “videshi ghuspaithiya” (foreign infiltrators) as a threat, accusing the Congress party of prioritizing them over Indian citizens for vote-bank politics. He claimed that these individuals had illegally occupied lakhs of bighas of land in Assam under previous governments and praised the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma administration for “freeing” these lands through recent eviction drives.
