Hindu nationalist supporter Nijhum accused a hawker of being a Bangladeshi immigrant and harassed him, citing the alleged persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh. When the hawker produced his identity card and stated that he was a Brahmin, Nijhum dismissed the document as fake and warned him to leave the area.
