A group of Muslim students travelling from Hyderabad to Uttar Pradesh for examinations at Darul Uloom Deoband, a prominent Islamic seminary focused on Islamic culture and sciences, were allegedly targeted at Delhi railway station on March 26, 2026.

One of the students recorded and shared a video of the incident, which quickly circulated on social media.

In the footage, the students, identifiable by their beards, skullcaps, and traditional attire, stand silently on the platform as a saffron-clad priest approaches them aggressively.

The man is heard issuing direct threats in Hindi: “Ay, gay ka hatya karo mat, ay gay ka hatya karo mat. Naito tera hatya karenge” (Don’t kill a cow, don’t kill a cow. Or else we will kill you).

The student who shared the video described the encounter as a clear case of identity-based provocation. He noted that the group was simply waiting for their connecting train and posed no threat. He expressed concern that such confrontations could easily lead to false implications or legal trouble for visibly Muslim individuals.

The student appealed to other aspirants travelling from various states for the Darul Uloom Deoband exams to remain vigilant yet composed. “They want you to react in anger and get into a fight,” he advised, urging students to walk away calmly without engaging with any miscreants.

Darul Uloom Deoband, located in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, is one of India’s oldest and most respected institutions for traditional Islamic education. Thousands of students from across the country and abroad appear for its examinations annually.
