BJP leader and Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, addressing the press, declared that they would erase the names of Babur, Humayun, Jahangir, Akbar, and Shahjahan. He said they would not allow any Mughal or Pathan name to be written anywhere, and that if such names appeared, they would be wiped off, urging people to bring BJP to power. He also claimed that once the SIR process was completed, it would reveal a large number of “non-existent,” Bangladeshi Muslim, and Rohingya voters in the state.
