In Dehradun, CM Dhami Defends “Love Jihad” Narrative and Demographic Campaigns

Location: Dehradun, Uttarakhand

During the ‘9th Mass Vande Mataram’ singing programme organised by Bharat Vikas Parishad, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami highlighted his government’s measures to maintain the cultural composition of the state. He mentioned the implementation of laws against religious conversion, riots, “illegal ghuspaith (infiltration),” “love jihad,” “land jihad,” and “thook jihad,” asserting strict action against them. He claimed the “freeing” of over 11,000 acres of government land from alleged illegal encroachment. Dhami referenced an initiative called “Operation Kalnemi,” describing it as a campaign against those who he alleged were targeting and harming “Sanatan Sanskriti.” He argued against education reforms, claiming “we want to establish temples of knowledge and values, not centres that mislead children.” He further mentioned the implementation of strict land laws against alleged encroachment by “land mafia.”
