Madhuram Sharan Shiva, the leader of the armed monks’ group Shiva Shakti Akhada, delivered a speech centered on historical grievances and a call for militant mobilization. He claimed that five lakh Hindu temples have been demolished over the last 500 years and argued that India is currently under siege by multiple forms of “Jihad” intended to fragment Hindu society. He invoked the figures of Ram and Dashrath, asking for modern-day counterparts willing to order the “execution of jihadis” and calling for an oath-bound army to protect Hindutva. Asserting that ancient history recognizes no other faith besides Hinduism, he urged followers to adopt weapons (shastra dhaaran) and increase the Hindu population to counter these perceived existential threats. He concluded his speech by chanting “the sword alone triumphs.”
