At a Hindu Sammelan, VHP–Bajrang Dal member Arvind Tiwari delivered an anti-Christian speech opposing religious conversion and alleged a broader conspiracy to “erase” Hindus. He claimed that Christian missionaries organise “Changai Sabha” (healing prayer meetings) to convert poor and vulnerable people through inducements and claims of miraculous healing. He questioned the presence of a Jesus statue outside Katra Hospital, alleging Christians use medicine while converting Hindus through ritualistic miraculous healing, alleging it aims to reduce the Hindu population. He referred to Italy’s high COVID-19 death toll, demanding why pastors or the Pope could not save lives there, yet invite Hindus to such gatherings, calling conversion a “sin” and that it should be stopped.
