At a Virat Hindu Sammelan, VHP-Bajrang Dal leader Rajesh Kumar fearmongered about an alleged demographic shift, asserting that social harmony and brotherhood exist only while Hindus remain in the majority and warning that if their numbers decline, “they will consume you as prey.” Citing the displacement of Kashmiri Pandits, he alleged that Hindus could face similar threats and urged them to have more children to avoid what he described as Bangladesh-like conditions within the next 50 years if the population becomes evenly split. He also peddled the anti-Muslim conspiracy theory of “love jihad,” alleging that one lakh Hindu women are trapped annually by Muslim men he referred to as “Afzal,” who conceal their religious identity, and said women must be taught to identify the “threat” or risk conversion to Islam or death.
