At a Virat Hindu Sammelan, Bhante Sanghpriya Rahul, National President of the Bharatiya Baudh Sangh and Member of the Hindi Advisory Committee, Ministry of Home Affairs, declared India a “Hindu Rashtra” and alleged that those who envisioned “Ghazwa-e-Hind” and sought to turn India into an “Islamic State” had their plans thwarted by the Prime Minister and Hindus. Citing Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s remarks during Partition, he claimed that Muslims who remained in India continue to divide the country. He issued explicit threats of violence, warning “maulvis and mullahs” that they may soon have to “choose the path of Pakistan or Bangladesh,” and declared, “if the opportunity arises, we will kill.” He further invoked the anti-Muslim conspiracy theory of “love jihad,” alleged that Hindu women were being abducted and converted, and called for an economic boycott of Muslim businesses to “end their livelihood.”
