At the inauguration ceremony of Saras Livelihood Fair 2026, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami highlighted his government’s measures to maintain the demographic composition, citing laws against religious conversion and riots and asserting strict enforcement. He claimed that action against “land jihad” had resulted in “freeing” over 12,000 acres of government land from “land mafia,” alleging the Opposition opposes their actions against “land jihad.” He accused them of disrupting the demography by allowing Muslim settlement due to vote-bank politics. He referred to the dissolution of the Madrasa Board, restrictions on prescribed curricula, and the closure of around 250 alleged “illegal” madrasas, asserting that education should promote nation-building rather than a “radical mindset.” Dhami also referenced “Operation Kalnemi” as a campaign targeting individuals he claimed were harming “Sanatan Sanskriti” by concealing their identities, again accusing Congress of opposing the initiative, and stated that “we will send them back to where they came from.”
