During the Virat Hindu Sammelan, VHP–Bajrang Dal leader Vikas Verma invoked the anti-Muslim conspiracy theory of “love jihad” and questioned why Hindus did not collectively rise against it. He also mocked Hindus who supported “Mohammad Deepak,” referring to Deepak Kumar, who had prevented Bajrang Dal members from harassing a Muslim vendor.
