Maharashtra Police booked seven individuals for offering Asr namaz inside the Electricity Department office of the Malegaon Municipal Corporation after a complaint by employee Mahendra Raghunath Sawant. The FIR invokes Sections 132, 292, 189, and 190 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and provisions of the Maharashtra Police Act. While the complainant alleged the group insisted on praying inside the office, residents stated that officials had called them for a 3 pm meeting and that they offered namaz after waiting for hours to avoid missing the prayer time.
