In Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma and Amit Shah Promise More Evictions and Deportations of Alleged “Bangladeshi Infiltrators”

Location: Khanapara, Kamrup, Assam

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, during an election rally, glorified the eviction drive targeting Bengali-origin Muslims and promised that, if voted back to power, he would take back every piece of land occupied by those he termed “illegal Bangladeshis.” He claimed that in Assam, no “Bangladeshi” can ever occupy what he described as “our land.” He declared that they would evict every single “Bangladeshi” using bulldozers and warned that they would gouge out the eyes of anyone daring to show “red eyes” to Assam.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah glorified the eviction drives, claiming they had freed land from “ghuspaithiyas” (infiltrators). He urged voters to elect them again, promising to identify and deport “ghuspaithiye” from the entire country. He named districts with significant Muslim populations and claimed that the government would evict infiltrators from each and every house they are living in.
